To reach Mexico in RUNAWAYS, prepare a controllable vehicle and fuel margin, then follow the current road through Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas before crossing the Mexico border. Official badges confirm every named checkpoint and the final escape. Current walkthroughs corroborate the order, while exact roads and police behavior remain beta-sensitive.
Prepare the vehicle and route
Use a vehicle you have already driven. Practice braking, reversing, and recovery. Check the live fuel state and identify a current station; community walkthroughs use Exon. Keep CREDZ available for the route rather than spending the entire balance before departure.
Clear awkward loot from the vehicle path and inventory. Stage the car toward the main road. On mobile, place the camera so checkpoint openings remain visible and make slower inputs.
Cross Kansas
Follow the live state signs to the Kansas checkpoint. Slow down before the gate, choose the clear opening, and cross the trigger. The official Kansas Checkpoint condition is crossing the Kansas state line.
Community routes report police response around state progression. Continue toward the exit road instead of stopping in the gate. Use solid turns and avoid an immediate reversal that returns to the same line of sight.
Continue through Oklahoma and Texas
Repeat the preparation at each state: read the sign, check fuel, align the vehicle, and identify the road after the gate. Official badges separately track Oklahoma and Texas crossings. Wait for visible feedback where safe, but do not let confirmation stop the route under pressure.
Do not rely on a permanent number of turns between states. Beta roads can change. Broad landmarks and state signage are more reliable than timing from a video.
Cross the Mexico border
After Texas, follow the current border signs and approach the final gate with enough control to cross the intended trigger. The official International Fugitive condition is “You escaped to Mexico!” Current walkthroughs show a completion result after the border.
Remain in the server long enough for normal feedback. If no completion or badge appears, verify that the correct trigger was crossed, check official badge ownership, and retest in a fresh server. Do not invent an additional loot or wanted-level requirement; those belong to separate badges.
Optional visual walkthrough
This community first-win walkthrough was checked August 21, 2026 and is useful for recognizing broad route landmarks. Compare every sign, road, and interface with the live beta; the video is not an official permanent map.
Combine Mexico with badge challenges
Hardened Criminal officially requires escaping to Mexico while at police level 5. Complete an ordinary International Fugitive run first. On the challenge attempt, confirm level 5 is visibly active before the final trigger and keep the same proven vehicle and fuel plan.
High Roller requires holding $50,000 at any point during the escape. Preserve the displayed balance until the award registers. These conditions are independent; Mexico itself does not require both.
Recover a failed border run
If fuel ended the attempt, move the last refuel earlier and repeat with the same vehicle. If a checkpoint collision caused the loss, practice that gate alone and reduce approach speed. If police maintained sight, stage the first post-gate turn and avoid a long straight road. If the border did not register, confirm the exact live trigger and badge ownership.
Do not solve every failure by buying a different vehicle. Route knowledge and early decisions are easier to isolate. Change one variable, then run the same sequence again so the improvement is visible.

Checkpoint and escape conditions are Official. State order and broad road route are Community corroborated. Exact turns, fuel stops, police triggers, and border geometry remain Needs in-game testing.
